Gratomic posts assay results from promising Aukam graphite project in Namibia

Results included more than 50% total graphite carbon (TCG) over 0.89 meters (m), 49.3% TCG over 1m, and 43.4% TCG over 1.02m

Gratomic Inc has announced the first assay results from the diamond drilling program at its Aukam graphite project in Namibia.

The 15-sample program was intended to intercept mineralized graphite veins to confirm the company's early estimations and to provide a deeper understanding of Aukam geology.

Drill cores were sampled where graphite veins exceeded 20 centimeters and a minimum sample length of 50 centimetres (cm).

Results included more than 50% total graphite carbon (TCG) over 0.89 meters (m), 49.3% TCG over 1m and 43.4% TCG over 1.02m.

A full breakdown of the results can be found here.

The assay methods used included the LECO carbon-sulphur analyzer and high temperature combustion infrared detection, the company said. During this procedure, the carbon in the sample is converted to carbon dioxide, which is then measured by infrared detectors.

Gratomic has projects in Namibia, Brazil and Canada and is focused on becoming a leading global graphite supplier. The company aims to secure a strong position in the electric vehicle battery supply chain.
