Aben Resources to kick-start exploration at Slocan graphite property after receipt of permit from British Columbia government

The permit gives Aben the ability to conduct surface trenching and exploration drilling on the 2,826-hectare property

Aben Resources (TSX-V:ABN, OTCQB:ABNAF) Ltd said it has received an exploration permit from the government of British Columbia to conduct work on its Slocan graphite property in the province.

The permit will be in force for five years, with a provisional expiry date of November 15, 2027, Aben said in a statement.

More importantly, the permit gives Aben the ability to conduct surface trenching and exploration drilling on the 2,826-hectare property.

Slocan hosts several flake graphite-bearing outcrops with high values of 3.36% and 4.43% graphitic carbon. Aben is zeroing in on the Tedesco Conductor, which is a strong conductive anomaly identified by a 2010 airborne electromagnetic geophysical survey and is coincident with widespread graphite-bearing surface rock samples that range from trace to 4.43% graphitic flake carbon.

Jim Pettit, Aben’s president, called the receipt of the exploration permit a “very positive step” for the company.

“Following on our first comprehensive field exploration of the property this past summer we can now focus on drill-testing the previously undrilled Tedesco Conductor,” Pettit said in a statement.

“We look forward to developing the significant potential for economic graphite mineralization on the Slocan property while we forge a mutually-beneficial, respectful and positive relationship with the local First Nations.”
