Firering Strategic Minerals PLC (AIM:FRG) fell back 4.8% to 14.7p, giving up some of its significant gains in recent weeks, after announcing the first set of assay results from its drill programme at its Atex lithium-tantalum project in Côte d'Ivoire.
The metals explorer said it received “positive results”, including 64 metres at 1.24% lithium oxide from 76m in one hole.
According to a statement, it confirms Atex’s position as the first potentially significant lithium exploration project in Côte d'Ivoire.
A second phase of exploration with Ricca Resources is being prepared, it said, following a recent US$18.6mln investment agreement.
“Both the Firering and Ricca senior technical teams are currently at the Atex site and the next phase of exploration will be finalised over the coming weeks,” said Firering chief executive Yuval Cohen.
