NetScientific climbs as PDS Biotech cancer trial logs 100% response

On day 170 of the trial, eight of the nine had no evidence of disease (a complete response)

NetScientific shares shot ahead after portfolio company PDS Biotechnology's encouraging update from the ongoing IMMUNOCERV Phase 2 cervical cancer clinical trial.

All nine patients treated with the combination of PDS0101 and CRT had a clinical response with tumour shrinkage greater than 60% at mid-point evaluation, said PDS.

On day 170 of the trial, eight of the nine had no evidence of disease (a complete response), added PDS, which presented the data during a poster session at the 37th Annual Meeting for the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer.

Frank Bedu-Addo, PDS Biotech's chief executive, said: “Importantly, 100% of patients responded to treatment with the combination of PDS0101 and CRT.

“We believe this study also provides further confirmation that PDS0101 induces the right type, quality, and potency of killer T cells in humans that may translate to effective treatment of cervical cancer. “

"Furthermore, we released expanded interim data from our NCI-led PDS0101-based triple combination trial demonstrating 66% (19/29) survival at median follow-up of 16 months in checkpoint inhibitor refractory HPV-positive cancer patients.

“To date, we have presented PDS0101 Phase 2 efficacy data in over 60 patients and safety data in over 100 patients."

Shares in Netscientific rose 9% to 65p while Nasdaq-listed PDS climbed 27% to US$7.12.
