4:10pm: Troilus, Euro Sun have banner days
At the close, Troilus finished 13% higher at C$0.52, while Euro Sun had jumped nearly 31% at nearly C$0.09 off the back of its financing announcement.
Elsewhere, NevGold continued to hold steady, finishing at around C$0.47 for a 16.3% gain, while Aurora Cannabis finished strongly at C$2.05, although its US-listed shares had retreated slightly in after hours trading in New York.
11:55am: Aurora Cannabis, NevGold advance sharply
Aurora Cannabis Inc (TSX:ACB) shares climbed 15% to $2.03 on Friday after the Canadian cannabis company reported its fiscal 2023 first-quarter financial results, saying it is on target to reach Adjusted EBITDA profitability by December 31, 2022, and expects to achieve up to $170 million in annualized cost savings by the end of the year.
As well, shares of NevGold Corp (TSX-V:NAU, OTCQX:NAUFF) shot up 15% to $0.46 as the junior explorer released further assay results from the drill program at the Resurrection Ridge target area at its Limousine Butte project in Nevada, which included 0.53 grams per tonne (g/t) oxide gold over 74.7 meters (m) as well as 0.81 g/t oxide gold over 19.9m from the top of the mineralized zone.
NevGold noted the results expand the mineralized footprint by over 100 meters at Resurrection Ridge.
Troilus Gold Corp (TSX:TLG, OTCQX:CHXMF) stock, meanwhile, continued to move higher Friday, up 9% to $0.50 while gaining 28% since Tuesday after junior mining company reported drill results from the Z87 zone at its Troilus project in Quebec, which included 5.2 g/t gold equivalent over 21m inside a broader zone of 1.8 g/t gold equivalent over 138m.
And, Euro Sun Mining Inc (TSX:ESM, OTC:CPNFF) shares rose 8% to $0.07 on Friday after the explorer and project developer announced plans to raise nearly C$2.4 million to boost its treasury and advance its 100%-owned Rovina Valley gold and copper project located in west-central Romania.
