Healthcare tech stock climbs on record financial results: Proactive’s daily small cap movers

Record revenue and Adjusted EBITDA powered shares of a digital healthcare company higher Thursday, plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and microcap space

4:05pm: WELL Health Technologies, Maverix Metals make big gains

WELL Health Technologies Corp (TSX:WELL) shares jumped 11% to close at $3.13 on Thursday after the digital healthcare company announced record third-quarter revenue that rose 47% year over year to $145.8 million, in addition to record Adjusted EBITDA that increased 23% to $27.5 million.

WELL Health added that it is increasing its guidance for 2022 annual revenue to exceed $565 million, from more than $550 million previously, and also expects to generate more than $100 million of Adjusted EBITDA for the year.

As well, shares of Maverix Metals Inc (TSX:MMX) rose 10% to $5.25 as the gold-focused royalty and streaming company said it has agreed to be acquired by Triple Flag Precious Metals Corp (TSX:TFPM) in a US$600 million deal.

Under the terms of the arrangement, Maverix shareholders may elect to receive either US$3.92 in cash, or 0.360 of a Triple Flag share, for each Maverix share held.

AutoCanada Inc (TSX:ACQ), meanwhile, reported that its third-quarter revenue increase 34.6% year over year to $1.6 billion, while its Adjusted EBITDA for the period improved 11.9% to $76.4 million.

The North American automobile dealership group also noted that it intends to launch a “substantial” issuer bid to purchase up to $50 million of its common shares at a price of between $25 and $28 per share. Its stock popped 24% to $25.80 following the announcement.

And, Nextech AR Solutions Corp (CSE:NTAR) shares gained 11% to $0.91 on Thursday after the provider of augmented reality experience technologies announced that it is experiencing record demand for 3D models in the fourth quarter, with $700,000 worth of 3D model orders expected to be delivered in the period, and said it shows no sign of slowing down in 2023.
