Fireweed Metals discovers more zinc mineralization at its Macmillan Pass project in the Yukon

“Our drilling consistently yielded wide zones of zinc mineralization at Boundary Zone, including many potentially very high-grade intervals and new discoveries,” Fireweed Metals CEO Brandon Macdonald said

Fireweed Metals Corp (TSX-V:FWZ, OTCQB:FWEDF) has announced the completion of the 7,000 metre, 2022 diamond drilling program at its flagship Macmillan Pass zinc-lead-silver project in Canada’s Yukon Territory.

The mineral exploration company said step-out drilling has successfully extended the area of known mineralization and has led to new discoveries of massive sulphide and laminated stratiform zinc mineralization at the Boundary Zone.

“Our drilling consistently yielded wide zones of zinc mineralization at Boundary Zone, including many potentially very high-grade intervals and new discoveries,” Fireweed Metals CEO Brandon Macdonald said in a statement.

“The infill drilling at Tom has produced some spectacular massive sulphide intervals that we anticipate will grade significantly higher than the grades of the surrounding blocks in the current mineral resource model due to better recoveries achieved by modern drilling,” Macdonald added.

Fireweed also noted that infill drilling around the high-grade feeder zone at the Tom deposit has achieved significantly improved drilling recovery compared to nearby historic holes.

As well, the company said sphalerite veins and vein breccias were intersected in multiple holes at the Boundary Zone.

It added that assay results for all holes drilled are pending.

Fireweeds Metals is a mineral exploration company on the leading edge of critical minerals project development with three projects located in northern Canada.

The company’s project portfolio includes the Macmillan Pass zinc-lead-silver project in the Yukon and a pending acquisition on the adjacent Mactung tungsten project, as well as the Gayna River zinc-gallium-germanium project, also in the Yukon.
