Thunderbird Entertainment Group Inc (TSX-V:TBRD, OTCQX:THBRF) has corrected the record with regard to where its board of directors stands after an allegation that a certain member would back a hostile takeover.
Voss Capital LLC declared in a circular released Wednesday that current Thunderbird director Frank Giustra planned to vote against himself and for an entirely new board of electors nominated by Voss. Voss owns 13.3% of Thunderbird shares, and Giustra himself owns 12.8%.
Giustra plans to do no such thing, according to a statement from Thunderbird Thursday. In fact, Giustra said he was not even contacted by Voss about the plan.

“I support Thunderbird’s strategy and, contrary to Voss’s claim, I do not intend to vote against myself and my fellow directors,” Giustra said in a statement. “Even though Voss never contacted me, it is wrongly asserting that it has my endorsement. It does not.”
Thunderbird has called on Voss to publicly retract its claim that it has the support of Giustra and confirmed that he intends to stand for reelection at the company’s next annual general meeting of shareholders.
Thunderbird Entertainment is a global award-winning, full-service multiplatform production, distribution and rights management company, headquartered in Vancouver, with additional offices in Los Angeles, Toronto and Ottawa.
