Musk told to 'end Twitter madness now' by US broker Wedbush

Wedbush analysts hit out at Elon Musk’s selling of Tesla shares to fund his takeover of Twitter

Elon Musk has been told to end his 'Twitter madness' now and not sell any more Tesla stock.

The Tesla chief executive disposed of a further US$4bn worth of shares overnight sparking a furious tirade from the normally supportive US broker Wedbush.

Describing it as the “Twitter circus show”, Wedbush's Daniel Ives and John Katsingris wrote that Musk’s selling of more Tesla shares has lost him even more credibility with investors.

"When does it end? The focus is Tesla or Twitter? Is this Twitter train wreck situation hurting/tarnishing the global brand of Musk and therefore Tesla?"

Wedbush outlined how Tesla investor frustration is continuing to build as Musk seems to become increasingly involved in what it describes as an “absolute debacle” with Twitter.

Tesla “needs his time more than ever” given the global economic situation, production and delivery issues in China, as well as ever-increasing competition from around the globe.

Musk has sold nearly US$20bn worth of Tesla shares this year reducing his stake in the company to 14%.
