Black Swan Graphene to add seasoned mining CEO Brad Humphrey as independent director

Humphrey brings more than 25 years of international mining experience, including his current role as CEO of NiCAN, a Canadian explorer advancing nickel projects in Manitoba

Black Swan Graphene (TSX-V:SWAN) Inc has opted to increase the size of its board of directors and nominated NiCAN Limited CEO Brad Humphrey as an independent director.

Humphrey will officially be nominated at the company’s annual general meeting of shareholders, held virtually on November 25, 2022.

He brings more than 25 years of international mining experience, including his current role as CEO of NiCAN, a Candian explorer advancing nickel projects in Manitoba. He previously served in the same position at QMX Gold.

"On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Brad for his interest in the company and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the team upon his election at the upcoming annual general meeting of shareholders,” CEO Simon Marcotte said.

Meanwhile, Black Swan Graphene has granted a total of 700,000 stock options to members of management and consultants who had not previously received any such options or incentives. Each option will entitle its holder to purchase one common share of Black Swan Graphene at a price of $0.15 until November 7, 2027.

Black Swan is focused on the large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance and low-cost graphene products aimed at several industrial sectors, including concrete, polymers, Li-ion batteries, and others, which are expected to require large volumes of graphene.

The company aims to leverage the low-cost and green hydroelectricity of the province of Quebec and the proximity of the eventual graphite production sites in the province to establish a fully-integrated supply chain, reduce overall costs, and accelerate the deployment of graphene usage.
