Universal Ibogaine Inc (TSX-V:IBO) has formed an external advisory board as part of its strategic plans and mission to deliver medicalized ibogaine-centered addiction care and to undertake a planned clinical trial application later this year.
The company said its advisory board will allow it to draw on a broad range of expertise and experience from its members from various fields, including medical practice, First Nations leadership, psychedelic research, government relations, and grant funding.
Initial members include Melissa Lavasani, the founder and executive director of Plant Medicine Coalition, a Washington DC-based organization advocating for all plant medicines and their synthetic derivatives at the national, state, and local levels.

It also includes Marcos Moura, co-owner and chief development officer of Amada Franchise Inc, a brand dedicated to enriching the lives of our rapidly aging population.
Jerry Daniels, Grand Chief of the Southern Chiefs’ Organization which represents 34 Anishnaabe and Dakota communities in southern Manitoba, will bring his experience improving the quality of life through key initiatives in the First Nations health care experience, including designing and building community care models consistent with the evolution of the children’s welfare system as envisioned by southern First Nations.
Further, the founder and CEO of Hayco Construction, Travis Hayes, will bring extensive experience in the development and construction of medical facilities across Canada and the US.
Universal Ibogaine is a life sciences company, with a mission to transform addiction treatment using medicalized ibogaine through a planned Canadian clinical trial focused on opioid use disorder, and ultimately to utilize that protocol globally through planned future licensing agreements.
