Nextech AR Solutions Corp has announced multiple platform development updates to its Toggle3D design studio, including new templates and file format availability.
Launched in September, Toggle3D is an AR-enhanced web application that allows users to create and publish high-quality 3D models and experiences without any prerequisite technical or 3D design knowledge.
It can be used to convert large computer-aided design (CAD) files into lightweight 3D models at affordable prices and at scale, which Nextech believes makes it the only platform of its kind.

Here’s what’s new:
Toggle will be releasing a new template for material creation. The platform has developed a breakthrough physically based rendering (PBR) material creation flow that reduces the time from hours or days to minutes. That’s huge, as recreating a material from scratch today can take anywhere from 120-240 minutes depending on its complexity and the artist's experience.
From start to finish it lets users transform a 2D reference image into a high-quality realistic PBR material with no technical experience necessary from the user.
Additionally, Toggle will now support new file formats and expanded CAD conversion capabilities. The system will employ logic that allows parts from CAD conversions to be automatically named, grouped and filtered in a way that decreases the file organization flow effort by more than 200%, the company said.
Three new editing tools have also been introduced: a pre-set lighting library that users can toggle through; the ability to edit material properties such as roughness, glossiness, transparency and intensity of a material finish; and the adjustment of UV setting to change the way a texture appears.
Meanwhile, Toggle3D has a new logo and is undergoing a UX/UI lift that streamlines the user workflow, the company said.
"I’m super excited with these new developments of our flagship SaaS platform Toggle3D which is set to disrupt the $11 billion CAD market,” CEO Evan Gappelberg said in a statement. “We believe that Toggel3D will drive a significant amount of revenue and value for Nextech shareholders as we are quickly moving out of beta where we are getting incredibly positive feedback, to a full commercial launch later this month."
Since its beta launch, Toggle3D has been used by an early adopter group that includes manufacturers, production agencies, design agencies, industrial software companies and XR startups.
These users are looking for a 3D modeling creation workspace for use cases such as prototyping, design decision-making, content population in XR scenes and marketing applications.
