Hammerson PLC (LSE:HMSO) shares jumped 9% to 23.5p after the Brent Cross and Bullring shopping centre owner said it expects strong growth in profits this year, with visitor footfall at its properties back to 90% of pre-pandemic levels.
Full-year adjusted earnings were guided to be "not be less than £100mln", compared to £81mln last year, helped by lower costs and a better than expected performance from its Value Retail arm, which includes Bicester Village.
In a third-quarter update, the group reported sales above 2019 levels in the UK, France and Ireland, with footfall continuing to improve in key markets.
Year to date, like-for-like gross rental income increased by 11%, it said, with rent collection rates expected to improve further, with 93% for the past quarter so far.
