Live Company cancels K.Flex concert at the O2 in London following Seoul Halloween tragedy

David Ciclitira, Live Company chairman commented: "Having personally visited the scene of the tragedy I do not believe that staging a K-pop event at this time is the right thing to do"

Live Company Group PLC (AIM:LVCG) (LVCG) has announced the decision to cancel the K.Flex concert planned for 20 November 2022 at the O2 venue in London.

The company said the decision to cancel the Mega KPOP music festival event "was not taken lightly, nor speedily, but reflects both the sensitivities and practicalities post the tragic events in Seoul, South Korea, over the Halloween period".

On the night of 29 October 2022, a crowd crush occurred during Halloween festivities in the Itaewon neighbourhood of Seoul, with at least 156 people killed and at least 172 others injured.

Looking forward, LVCG added that it will be working on bringing a number of K-pop events throughout 2023 for the loyal fanbase and will be announcing this programme through December.

It said this is likely to be a full European Tour with a minimum of five events with the first event currently scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2023.

In a statement, David Ciclitira, chairman commented: "Having personally visited the scene of the tragedy I do not believe that staging a K-pop event at this time is the right thing to do. We hope that this is just a postponement and will make a further announcement if we are able to reschedule."
