Empire Metals says historical sampling indicates high values of copper, silver and base metals at Pitfield project

Historical geochemical sampling indicates high background values for copper, silver, zinc and nickel, including up to 2.3% copper and 20.8 grammes a tonne silver

Empire Metals Ltd (AIM:EEE) has said an analysis of the historical geochemical sampling compiled so far on the Pitfield copper project in Western Australia indicated high values of copper, silver and base metals.

The mapping shows extensive copper, silver and other base metals anomalism over a 40 kilometre strike length, giving further confidence in the potential to discover a "Giant" copper mineralised system at Pitfield, said the AIM-quoted company.

Historical geochemical sampling in the vicinity of the magnetic anomaly indicates high background values for copper, silver, zinc and nickel, including up to 2.3% copper and 20.8 grammes a tonne (g/t) silver from surface rock chip sampling.

Empire announced last week that Pitfield had all the hallmarks of a "Giant" copper mineralised system.

"I am delighted to provide an update on our emerging Giant copper exploration project at Pitfield, where geochemical mapping has confirmed high background values of copper, silver and other base metals across almost our entire licence area,” said Empire managing director Shaun Bunn in a statement.

Empire has also released a new corporate presentation on its website that focuses on Pitfield and provides updates on the company's Eclipse-Gindalbie gold project, also in Western Australia, and other recently acquired high-quality copper-gold projects.
