Kooth PLC (AIM:KOO) chief executive Tim Barker speaks to Proactive after agreeing a US$3mln pilot deal to supply its interactive mental health services to 30 school districts in the US state of Pennsylvania.
Kooth is already the UK's largest single-access provider for mental health support for under-18s, and is now working to expand into new markets.
Kooth operates on a subscription model, typically paid for by local governments and other institutions, with the service free at the point of delivery.
End-users have access to various resources, including live chat support, that are designed to help specifically with the prevention rather than the treatment of mental health problems.
Barker describes poor mental health as "one of the global challenges of our time" and "a $6trln per year problem," with "no one really in the world that does what we do".
