Arecor Therapeutics PLC (AIM:AREC) said its Tetris Pharma subsidiary has launched Ogluo, a glucagon-prefilled autoinjector pen in Germany as a treatment for severe hypoglycaemia in children and adults living with diabetes.
Designed for those with severe hypoglycaemia or low blood sugar it is Ogluo’s first launch in the EU having already been made available in the UK.
Pricing will be published in the LAUER-TAXE, a reference point for all German pharmacies, insurers, and wholesalers said Tetris.
Germany has an estimated 6.2mln people living with diabetes and its launch there is the initial stage part of a commercial roll-out in key European markets.
In a statement, Shafiq Choudhary, Tetris Pharma’s managing director, said: "With the launch of Ogluo® in Germany, Tetris Pharma has achieved a significant milestone through the commercialisation of our flagship product.
“A severe hypoglycaemic event can be very frightening, not only for the patients but for those around them who have to act quickly.
“The launch of Ogluo means that patients living with diabetes in Germany who may experience severe hypoglycaemia will now have a new option to tackle those events.“
