Anglesey Mining PLC (AIM:AYM) has reported a positive final set of assay results from an infill drilling programme at its Parys Mountain copper-zinc-lead-silver-gold project on the Isle of Anglesey in North West Wales.
The final two holes of the 2022 programme recorded multiple broad intercepts and continued to highlight that the White Rock and Engine Zones represent an extensive mineralised system, said the AIM-traded company.
Following the final round of results, Anglesey said it will select samples from the 10 drill holes for a metallurgical testwork programme that will help it to decide between the Dense Media Separation (DMS) and X-Ray Transmission (XRT) ore sorting pre-concentration methods.
“With the final encouraging assay results now received, we can move onto the next round of workstreams for Parys Mountain,” said the company's chief executive Jo Battershill in a statement. “As previously highlighted, core will be sent to Grinding Solutions to conduct pre-concentration studies on representative samples from areas that are likely to be mined.”
The metallurgical programme will also include testwork on potential tailings to feed into the next round of tailings management design work.
“We continue to progress the surveys required for the environmental baseline work and we will soon commence the initial design work for the tailings management facility,” said Battershill. “Both aspects are critical to progressing Parys Mountain through the permitting phase.”
Anglesey said it will immediately start to update the mineral resource estimate for the White Rock and Engine Zones to incorporate the results from the infill drilling programme.
Significant intersections from Hole WD-24 include 1.5 metres (m) at 1.4% copper, 9.7% zinc, 6.2% lead, 187 grammes a tonne (g/t) silver and 2.7 g/t gold from a depth of 239.4m; and 28.96m at 3.3% zinc, 1.7% lead, 0.5% copper, 71 g/t silver and 0.9 g/t gold from a depth of 262.94m.
Results from Hole WD-23 included a 143.92m intersection at 0.9% zinc, 0.5% lead, 0.2% copper, 9g/t silver and 0.2 g/t gold from a depth of 93m.
Anglesey also said that work on advancing the Northern Copper Zone is progressing well.
