Junior explorer powers higher on lithium sample results: Proactive’s daily small cap movers

Potential for a high-grade lithium deposit sparked shares of a mineral exploration company Wednesday, plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and microcap space

4:05pm: Surge Battery Metals, Verde AgriTech rally late afternoon

Surge Battery Metals Inc (TSXV:NILI) shares jumped 47% to close at $0.125 on volume of more than 6.7 million shares Wednesday after the mineral exploration company announced that the first hole of an eight-hole reverse circulation (RC) drill program has confirmed what the company called the potential for a high-grade lithium deposit existing at the Nevada North lithium project in Nevada.

Surge noted that six representative and randomly selected samples of silty clay, taken from varying depths in drill hole NN22-01, range from a low of 1,790 parts per million (ppm) to high of 4,500 ppm lithium, with an average 3,093 ppm.

As well, shares of Talon Metals Corp. (TSX:TLO) surged 19% to $0.59 as base metals company said it will receive a US$114 million grant (estimated to be 27% of total project cost), as part of funding from the US Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, towards project construction and execution costs for the Battery Minerals Processing Facility in North Dakota.

Verde AgriTech Ltd (TSX:NPK), meanwhile, reported that it has rectified the water issues encountered during construction of improved road access to potash fertilizer production Plant 2 in Brazil.

As part of Plant 2’s logistics corridor, the company noted that it upgraded the road infrastructure, including 22 kilometres (kms) of roads, 14 kms of asphalting, and the construction of a new bridge. Verde AgriTech stock moved up 25% to $5.92 following the announcement.

In addition, shares of The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd (CSE:TGOD) rose 36% to $0.095 after the Canadian cannabis company announced that it agreed to merge with privately-owned cannabis producer BZAM Holdings to create the sixth largest Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) and realize cost synergies of at least $10 million annually.

And, Silver Bullet Mines Corp (TSXV:SBMI) shares continued to move higher Wednesday, up 6% to $0.19 following a 6% gain yesterday, as the silver and copper exploration and development company said it continues to assay for high-grade gold and platinum group metals at its Buckeye Silver Mine in Arizona.
