Quebec Nickel Corp (CSE:QNI, OTCQB:QNICF) said drilling at its Ducros project in Quebec has potentially expanded the known sulphide mineralization at the Fortin Sill Zone.
The company said the new mineralized drill intercepts occur below and to the southwest of the currently known extent of the Fortin Sill Zone.
The sulphides occur as coarse pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite blebs within chlorite-altered pyroxenites and gabbronorites and resemble the mineralization encountered in hole QDG-22-09 earlier this year, Quebec Nickel said.

As previously reported, assay results from hole QDG-22-09 returned a 31 metres (m)-wide intercept averaging 0.37% nickel, 0.40% copper and 0.55 grams per ton (g/t) platinum-palladium-gold, including higher grade sub-intervals of 0.44% nickel, 0.51% copper and 0.69 g/t platinum-palladium-gold over 18.5 m and 0.55% nickel, 0.86% copper and 0.86 g/t platinum-palladium-gold over 5 m.
“Additional drill holes are being planned from existing permitted drill pads to further define this possible extension of the Fortin Sill Zone,” the company said.
