Panther Metals PLC (LSE:PALM) said it has appointed two drilling contractors for its diamond programme at the Obonga Project, situated on the Obonga greenstone belt approximately 160 kilometres north of Ontario, Canada.
The company focused on mineral exploration in Canada said it chose BC Diamond Drilling and Platinum Diamond Drilling to conduct the core programme this autumn.
It will utilise two helicopter portable drilling rigs operating on a double shift basis to optimise the aircraft that is being supplied by Expedition Helicopters.
"We are now closing in on conducting the most comprehensive drill programme ever carried out on the Obonga Greenstone Belt,” Darren Hazelwood, Panther Metals chief executive, noted in a statement.
The Obonga drilling programme is targeting high-priority electromagnetic and magnetic geophysical anomalies prospective for volcanogenic massive sulphide copper/base metal mineralisation and intrusion hosted nickel, platinum and palladium, Panther said.
The programme camp and logistics hub is currently under construction and the company said it looks forward to announcing mobilisation to the site in the near future.
