Avation amends staff share warrants worth £1.73mln

The aircraft leasing company has lowered the exercise price and extended the expiry dates of the warrants

Avation PLC (LSE:AVAP) said it has lowered the exercise price and extended the expiry dates of staff share warrants issued in 2019.

During the pandemic, 3,146,995 warrants expired without being used due to being higher than the market price of the company's shares, the aircraft leasing group said in a statement.

It has now amended 1,026,000 outstanding warrants granted on 20 September 2019 with an exercise price of 296p per share, due to expire on 21 October 2022, and 684,000 warrants granted on 21 November with an exercise price of 274.5p, due to expire on 22 December 2022, by reducing the exercise price to 101.25p and extending the expiry dates by three months to 21 January 2023 and 22 March 2023 respectively.

Net proceeds of these warrants, if exercised, would be £1.73mln.

CEO Jeff Chatfield said: "As a policy we issue warrants to staff at the then published market share price, we find warrants a useful employee retention tool, in what is currently a tight labour market as post pandemic travel continues to recover."
