Goodbody Health Ltd (AQSE:GDBY, OTCQB:GDBYF) has said it will offer a range of diagnostic services and earwax micro-suction at 17 outlets owned by the Allied Pharmacies chain.
Earwax removal is no longer offered by most GPs, so patients are increasingly turning to community pharmacies for advice and treatment, the company said.
It is estimated around 2.3mln people suffer from a build-up that can lead to infection, loss of hearing and exacerbate stress.
The 30-minute Goodbody service will use a device combining micro suction and a high-definition digital otoscopy system.
In a statement, Goodbody chief executive Marc Howells said: "We are delighted to be working together with Allied Pharmacies group of community pharmacies, whom we welcome to our Goodbody network. The widening of our network will drive more footfall to local pharmacies and help more customers improve their well-being.”
