BMEX Gold Inc (TSX-V:BMEX) has told investors that a 3,000-metre (m) drill program is starting this week, along with follow-up exploration, at its Dunlop Bay project in Quebec, where two gold-bearing corridors have now been identified.
This summer's field work at the asset recorded numerous high-grade gold samples, including one which returned 300 grams per ton (g/t) of the yellow metal.
Meanwhile, 14 samples contained more than 10 g/t of the precious metal and 25 contained over 1 g/t gold.
"The integrated exploration strategy defined earlier this year is paying off and I am thrilled by the size and tenure of our gold and VMS targets," Robert Pryde, the president of BMEX Gold said in a statement.

"With the work completed this summer, we have now defined two well controlled gold-bearing corridors of kilometric order," he added.
The company noted that the Dunlop Bay showing clearly consists of a corridor, which links the Marcelle, Rolande and Edith vein trend, while a similar trend has now also been interpreted between the Bella and Omala veins - also barely drill tested.
Both these gold corridors extend for a kilometer (km) each and represent large targets for the current drill program, said BMEX.
Pryde said: "The Dunlop Bay showing was until now thought to be a scattered gold halo. At the same time, we have very encouraging results from a ground EM survey on Dunlop Bay Ouest/Guislau area.
"This is a good indicator of a VMS style of mineralization and the EM anomaly is now extending on more than 900m of strike," he added.
"This new electromagnetic survey and interpretation permitted BMEX to highlight yet undrilled plates of conductance going up to 1,000 siemens.
"A second phase of geological field work and prospecting is currently underway to further enhance the geological and assay data available on this sector and the rest of the property. Obviously, the Dunlop Bay Ouest showing, the Marcelle-Rolande-Edith and Bella-Omala trends will be priority targets of a 3,000m drilling program starting this week."
BMEX has 100% interest in two projects in the prolific Abitibi greenstone belt in Quebec, Canada.
Dunlop Bay consists of 76 mineral claims that cover 4,226 hectares, while its King Tut project consists of 120 contiguous claims over 5,206 hectares and lies 65km east of Amex Exploration's Perron property.
BMEX shares in Toronto advanced more than 22% on the day to stand at C$0.055 each.
