Graphene specialist Directa Plus PLC (AIM:DCTA, OTC:DTPKF) has pulled off a minor coup with the appointment of Wesley Clark as an independent director of the company.
Clark, described as an educator, businessman and writer, is better known as the four-star general who was the envoy for the Dayton Agreement that brought peace to Bosnia and was formerly NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.
Clark was also an early runner in the 2004 presidential race.
“His experience and contacts will help us to gain faster access to the most significant high-potential graphene opportunities in the United States,” said Directa Plus chief executive, Giulio Cesareo in a statement.
“He has in-depth knowledge of the US innovation eco-system - not just defence but also oil and gas and new energy including batteries and renewables.
“Wesley Clark has high visibility in the US, outstanding leadership experience and extensive knowledge of the sectors in the US that could be early adopters of our technology and products," he added.
