OptiBiotix Health PLC (AIM:OPTI) said it is able to make four new health claims in Australia for its weight management product, SlimBiome.
It follows a systematic review of the product to establish evidence of these properties. It was then turned into a dossier compiled in accordance with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (FSANZ).
These new claims assert that SlimBiome leaves the taker staying fuller for longer; reduces feelings of hunger and food cravings; promotes microbiome diversity and aids intestinal balance, and promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
“This important step forward enables our customers in Australia to notify FSANZ through a simple process and make health claims that are meaningful to their consumers that clearly differentiate their products from the mainstream competition,” said René Kamminga, chief executive of the company’s principal subsidiary, OptiBiotix Limited.
OptiBiotix is developing products that aid cardiovascular health, weight loss and diseases such as diabetes that work with the intricate bacterial ecosystem of the gut called the microbiome.
