Volkswagen’s all electric-vehicles (BEVs) deliveries jumped 25% in the first nine months of 2022 year-on-year.
Some 366,400 BEVs were sold to customers by the end of September, up from 293,000 last year, despite ongoing supply constraints, the carmaker said.
Hildegard Wortmann, a member of the extended executive committee, said: “Customers love our brand's all-electric model range, which is the broadest in the industry.
“Due to the strong demand and ongoing supply constraints, our order bank remains on a high level,” with over 350,000 vehicles in the order bank in Western Europe alone.
BEV's share of total deliveries rose to 6.0% in the nine months, up from 4.2% in the comparative period last year.
On a regional basis, Europe remained head and shoulders above the rest with 211,900 vehicles delivered, accounting for 58% of the total.
Wortmann added that Volkswagen reached a BEV share of 6.8% in the third quarter – its highest so far this year.
Total deliveries, meanwhile, rose 10% in the third quarter but were still down 12.9% overall this year at just more than 6mln vehicles, it said Friday.
