Dundas Minerals Ltd (ASX:DUN) has found further exploration success at its Central target in WA, where assay results have confirmed anomalous pXRF readings for cobalt, copper, nickel and silver.
The multi-element explorer has taken the magnifying glass to drill chip samples from two shallow, 37-metre rotary air blast holes drilled in the Albany-Fraser Orogen prospect.
The drill chip findings were sent to the lab for assay before they were compared to the pXRF readings,
Interestingly, where pXRF readings were high for silver and copper, lab assays were also elevated, but at lower levels.
But this was not the case for nickel mineralisation, where the drill chip assays were in all cases higher than pXRF results — in several cases between two and three times higher.
The highest gold value returned from the lab was 5 parts per billion.
Moving ahead, Dundas will continue pXRF analysis during fieldwork but will not quote numerical readings in its public announcements until it is confident of a strong correlation between the reading and the future lab results.
