First Mining Gold reports more than 3M measured and indicated oz of gold in Duparquet project technical report

The Duparquet project is a multi-million-ounce advanced exploration and mining development asset located in the Abitibi region of Quebec

First Mining Gold Corp has filed a NI 43-101 technical report covering its Duparquet Gold project in Quebec, the company announced.

The Duparquet project is a multi-million-ounce advanced exploration and mining development asset located in the Abitibi region of Quebec, roughly 50 kilometers north of the city of Rouyn-Noranda.

The deposit hosts a gold resource of 3.4 Moz (million ounces) in the measured and indicated category and 1.6 Moz in the inferred category. Those figures are derived from a master database of drill data, which contains 904 holes totaling 270,119 meters and 173,831 sampled intervals.

In-pit and underground estimates encompass 60 mineralized domains and 1 dilution envelope using the grade of the adjacent material when assayed or a value of zero when not assayed, the company noted.

The company reported in-pit and underground high-grade capping of 25 grams per ton of gold, and tailings high-grade capping of 13 g/t gold.

In a combined pit and selective underground mining scenario, the project contains an estimated measured and indicated resource of more than 65 million tons at 1.58 g/t gold for 3.3 Moz of gold and an inferred resource of more than 37 million tons at 1.36 g/t gold for 1.6 Moz of gold.

The results of the 2022 mineral resource estimate represent a 10.5% increase in the measured and indicated resource and a 13.4% increase in the inferred resource compared to a 2014 estimate.

Additionally, the company noted that the Duparquet project appears amenable to standard gold recovery processes, based on metallurgical tests.
