FTSE 100 remains steady despite Fitch downgrade

The FTSE 100 was little changed in early trading today, up by just 7 points to 7,060. This was despite Fitch moving the UK’s credit outlook from stable to negative.

Imperial Brands has launched a £1bn share buy-back programme and has told its investors that its trading is in line with expectations.

Shell cautioned that its Q3 results will be dented by a sharp fall in refining margins. Results from its Integrated Gas business are expected to be significantly lower compared to the second quarter.

Tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams have invested in a London fintech app Shares, which launched in the UK in May and has since gained more than 150,000 users.

IQGeo have announced three contract wins for its geospatial and Comsof software worth US$6.5mln.

Vast Resources signed an exclusive offtake agreement with Trafigura for production from the Takob mine in Tajikistan. Trafigura will purchase bulk concentrate with lead, zinc, gold and silver as the payables under a market standard priced contract.

Mila Resources raised nearly £700,000 for further exploration of the Kathleen Valley gold project in Western Australia.
