SPC Nickel Corp (TSX-V:SPC, OTC:SPCNF) revealed new assay results from its Muskox project in Nunavut that included high-grade grab samples with encouraging nickel, copper and platinum group metals (PGM) grades.
Highlights from the results included values of up to 1.55% nickel, 6.38% copper and 6.18 grams per ton (g/t) PGMs collected over a one-kilometre strike length at the SKOX showing.
More high-grade grab samples collected at the Spider Lake area returned values of up to 1.48% nickel, 1.57% copper and 2.66 g/t PGMs.

But the highest-grade sample was found at the West Margin of the main Muskox intrusion, and returned values of 1.65% nickel and 8.64% copper, according to a release.
SPC’s objective with its prospecting program at Muskox is to resample historic nickel-copper-PGM (Ni-Cu-PGM) showings to better understand the style and controls of sulphide mineralization, and to collect high-quality geochemical data to gain a sharper understanding of the overall prospectivity of the Muskox intrusion, it said in a statement.
"We are very encouraged by the results from our maiden Muskox field trip,” CEO Grant Mourre told investors.
“The results further confirm our belief that the Muskox Intrusion has the potential to become a world-class Ni-Cu-PGM camp. We are excited to continue to evaluate and develop targets on the property and look forward to our return to the field."
The Muskox property spans 46,000 acres in Nunavut and is one of the last undeveloped camp-scale Ni-Cu-PGM prospects in the world, according to SPC.
Sudbury-based SPC is also exploring its Lockerby East and Aer-Kidd projects, which are both located in the heart of the historic Sudbury mining camp.
