Ocean Power Technologies (NASDAQ:OPTT) president and CEO Philipp Stratmann tells Proactive's Stephen Gunnion that a surveillance sub-contract for the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate is a natural progression of the projects the company has been undertaking - starting about two years ago with its first maritime domain awareness deployment off the coast of the North Sea.
Stratmann says OPT will work through Amentum Services, the prime contractor on the project, and will provide the required hardware, hardware deployment support, software, software deployment support, integration services, surveillance and telemetry data, and associated training in support of a PB3 PowerBuoy® equipped with its proprietary Maritime Domain Awareness solution.
