Lobe Sciences recruits biotech and pharma leader to its board

"Baxter brings to Lobe both a broad, practical experience with a variety of public and private pharmaceutical companies," said CEO Philip J Young

Lobe Sciences Ltd (CSE:LOBE, OTCQB:LOBED) has added more than 20 years of leadership experience to its board with the appointment of Baxter F Phillips III, including as the chair of its audit committee.

Phillips has extensive experience in leading multinational corporate strategy and finance in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, according to Vancouver-based Lobe Sciences.

Lobe Sciences CEO Philip J Young said that Phillips is highly respected in his field and that the company looks forward to working with him on its corporate goals.

"In addition to his strong financial acumen, Baxter brings to Lobe both a broad, practical experience with a variety of public and private pharmaceutical companies, and an in-depth expertise in manufacturing, licensing and marketing,” Young said in a statement.

Most recently, Phillips was CEO of UK-based Camallergy, where he continues to serve as an independent director. Prior to that, Phillips was CEO of Neurogastrx, where he led the company to a $45 million Series A financing, according to Lobe Sciences.

"I look forward to working with fellow board members and the Lobe management team to help champion transformative medicines for treating brain injuries and neurological disorders and bring much-needed therapies to patients," Phillips said.

Phillips also played a pivotal role in establishing manufacturing, leading multiple financing campaigns and navigating AmpliPhi Biosciences (NYSE:APHB) (now Armata Pharmaceuticals) to a listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Lobe Sciences said.

Lobe Sciences is a Canadian life sciences company engaged in drug research and development using psychedelic compounds and the development of innovative devices and delivery mechanisms to improve mental health and wellness.
