Goodbody Health Ltd (AQSE:GDBY, OTCQB:GDBYF) has signed a distribution contract with Tasso Inc, a specialist in equipment for collecting clinical-grade blood samples without needles.
Through the collaboration, Goodbody’s clinics can now undertake diagnostic tests requiring more blood than is delivered through the finger prick method.
Tasso’s products draw capillary blood samples with no needles and without the need for a phlebotomist, Goodbody said, which can then be sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis using a compatible sample collection reservoir.
Goodbody expects to roll the devices out through its network of UK pharmacies later this year.
Marc Howells, Goodbody’s chief executive, said: "This is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the industry for a long time, allowing more pharmacists to offer the best test for each customer so they can 'Know More - Live Better'."
The Aquis-listed company added it had also expanded its range of 'at home' test kits offered with placements agreed for its first 100 stands.
