Cloud DX (TSX-V:CDX, OTCQB:CDXFF), a provider of virtual care and remote patient monitoring solutions, announced the company's attendance by invitation at the Opportunity Collaborative Impact 2022 (OC Impact) in the beautiful beach town of Michès, in the Dominican Republic.
The North American disruptor in virtual care based in Kitchener, Ontario with a strong presence in Brooklyn, New York, said the three-day collaborative summit supports entrepreneurs with a mission to advance social impact initiatives.
Awarded a prestigious 12-month OC Fellowship, Cloud DX is one of nine XPRIZE Alumni in attendance, as part of the XPRIZE mission to advance technologies to benefit humanity.

OC Impact hosts philanthropists, non-profit leaders, impact investors, academics, and social impact entrepreneurs. Recognized as an "un-conference," delegates set their own schedules and the event provides a space where delegates can strike long-term collaborative relationships.
At OC Impact this year, Cloud DX CEO Robert Kaul will discuss opportunities to test and deploy the firm’s award-winning Connected Health platform. He will also introduce the AcuScreen Cough Analysis app for detecting tuberculosis, which kills nearly 1.5 million people every year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Part of the firm’s XPRIZE-winning Vitaliti Tricorder, the AcuScreen smartphone application, detects respiratory diseases by analyzing audio recordings of coughs. In November 2021, Cloud DX presented preliminary clinical trial results of AcuScreen aimed at detecting active tuberculosis at the 52nd Annual Union World Conference on Lung Health.
The study led by Dr Celso Khosa at the Instituto Nacional de Saude (INS), in Maputo Mozambique, seeks to determine the feasibility of frontline tuberculosis triage using AcuScreen.
In a statement, Dr Khosa said: "Our data shows that acoustic cough analysis and symptom detection exceeds the WHO requirements for a community-based TB triage system. Such a tool is essential for low resource and high burden areas."
AcuScreen is protected by two US patents. On September 8, 2022, Pfizer unveiled its $121 million acquisition of ResApp Health (ResApp Health Ltd (ASX:RAP)), which adopts a different approach to analyzing cough sounds.
Cloud DX continues to commercialize AcuScreen with strong backing from the XPRIZE and Roddenberry Foundations, in collaboration with the Altman Clinical and Transitional Research Institute (ACTRI) at the University of California San Diego and clinical colleagues in Mozambique.
Cloud DX boss Kaul described it as “an honour” to receive an XPRIZE Fellowship and attend OC Impact.
