The UK Office of Communications (Ofcom) has opened a formal investigation into Tapnet, the Yorkshire-based owner of OnlyFans competitor RevealMe.
The company has not responded to a statutory request from Ofcom after the regulator sent information requests out to RevealMe and other video-sharing platforms (VSPs) regarding user protections.
In a statement, the regulator said: “Ofcom’s job is to make sure that UK-based VSPs have appropriate measures in place to protect users from certain types of harmful material in videos."
“As of 29 September 2022, Tapnet had not provided a response to our information request, and is now subject to a formal investigation,” added Ofcom.
Tapnet has been approached over Twitter for a statement.
