Transformed Bango to capitalise on DOCOMO acquisition

“The pipeline for the second half of 2022 and beyond is strong,” the mobile payments specialist told investors

Bango PLC (AIM:BGO, OTCQX:BGOPF) said it is well positioned to take market share as the mobile payments specialist delivered a solid set of interim results.

“The pipeline for the second half of 2022 and beyond is strong,” investors were told.

Its acquisition of DOCOMO Digital, the former payments platform of Japanese telco NTT DOCOMO, is likely to be transformational to its finances. For full-year 2024 it is expected to boost underlying earnings (EBITDA) by US$10mln.

“There is work to do to integrate the businesses, but supported by the strong Bango culture, I am pleased with the rapid progress already made in the weeks following the acquisition and am excited by the potential for further rapid growth that the increased scale brings,” said chief executive Paul Larby.

For the half year ended June 30, Bango grew turnover by 9% to US$10.79mln, annual recurring revenue was US$3.34mln, while EBIDTA grew to US$2.85mln.
