Burberry appoints Daniel Lee as new chief creative officer to replace Riccardo Tisci

Lee had this role at Italy's Bottega Veneta from 2018 to 2021 and also worked at Balenciaga, Celine, Donna Karan and Maison Margiela

Burberry Group PLC (LSE:BRBY) appointed Daniel Lee as its chief creative officer, replacing Riccardo Tisci who is stepping down following his last runway show on Monday.

Lee had this role at Italy's Bottega Veneta from 2018 to 2021, while he has also worked at Balenciaga, Celine, Donna Karan and Maison Margiela.

He will join the British luxury brand on 3 October, based at its headquarters in London, and will report to chief executive Jonathan Akeroyd.

Burberry said Lee will oversee all of its collections, with his debut runway at London Fashion Week in February.

Akeroyd commented: “Daniel is an exceptional talent with a unique understanding of today’s luxury consumer and a strong record of commercial success, and his appointment reinforces the ambitions we have for Burberry.

“I am excited about working closely with him and I am confident he will have the impact we are aiming for in this next phase, supported by our talented and experienced teams.”
