Group Eleven Resources announces plans for follow up drilling at Ballywire and Carrickittle West prospects in Ireland

"Our discovery hole at Ballywire, announced a few weeks ago, marks a clear breakthrough in our exploration efforts in Ireland,” said Group Eleven Resources CEO Bart Jaworski

Group Eleven Resources Corp (TSX-V:ZNG) has announced plans for follow-up drill programs at the Ballywire and Carrickittle West prospects in Ireland.

The company said follow-up drilling at the Ballywire discovery is expected to begin in four to six weeks and finish by year-end.

It is planned to consist of an initial five holes totalling 1,500 metres (m), drilled at step-out distances ranging from 100m to 250 m from discovery hole G11-468-03, which returned 66m of mineralization hosting several high-grade zones, including 6.9m of 11.1% zinc, 4.3% lead and 160 grams per ton silver.

Subject to encouraging results from the follow-up program, Group Eleven said it would aim to conduct subsequent drilling to test the wider prospect.

Group Eleven CEO Bart Jaworski said follow-up drilling at Ballywire would be critical in shedding light on the extent and intensity of mineralization at this discovery area.

"Our discovery hole at Ballywire, announced a few weeks ago, marks a clear breakthrough in our exploration efforts in Ireland,” he said.

At Carrickittle West, the follow-up drill program is planned to consist of one hole totalling 700m to 1,100m, stepping out 300m to 500m to the north from hole G11-2531-01, which pierced a large and prospective fault structure.

Jaworski noted that this intercept of a large and prospective fault structure within the Limerick Volcanic Complex strongly corroborates management's view that this prospect has the potential to host zinc mineralization similar in style and scale to Glencore's nearby Pallas Green deposit.

“Follow-up drilling at this prospect could have significant positive implications in confirming the potential for large scale mineralized system,” he said.

The drill hole at Carrickittle West would be in addition to the previously announced 2,300m Stonepark program.

Both follow-up drill programs are expected to be funded by the company’s existing treasury.

Group Eleven is a mineral exploration company focused on advanced-stage zinc exploration in Ireland.
