tinyBuild beats expectations and reports 'very encouraging' traction for new games

"If H1 2022 was a game, we would have been playing it on the 'Very Difficult' setting,” said chief executive Alex Nichiporchik

TinyBuild Inc (LSE:TBLD), the publisher and developer of computer games such as Hello Neighbor, reported first-half results slightly ahead of expectations as it battled with “unprecedented challenges”.

Revenue was up 54% to US$28.8mln, while adjusted operating profit jumped 33% to US$6.8mln in the six months to 30 June.

As a result, the board remains confident it can deliver full-year results at least in line with expectations.

"If H1 2022 was a game, we would have been playing it on the 'Very Difficult' setting,” said chief executive Alex Nichiporchik.

“We faced unprecedented challenges, including the war in Ukraine, having to extract staff out of Russia, a sharp increase in the cost of living and supply chain issues.”

Despite this, it reassured investors that early indicators of traction across its pipeline of over 30 titles “are very encouraging.”

“To date, 2022 has seen significant progress towards that ambition, and we look to the future with confidence,” Nichiporchik added.

He also said the first episode of the Hello Neighbor animated series will premiere alongside the release of Hello Neighbor 2 in December.
