Frontier IP Group PLC (AIM:FIPP, OTC:FGPPF) said its portfolio company Pulsiv has launched a new technology that improves the efficiency of battery chargers and power supply units.
Pulsiv OSMIUM uses fewer components than existing technologies, making it cheaper to produce and cutting energy wastage through heat loss.
“OSMIUM also eliminates inrush current, allowing makers of industrial power supplies and LED lighting to simplify their designs and reduce costs,” Frontier added.
Talks are underway with potential manufacturers while distribution agreements have been signed with Astute Electronics and global group Digikey.
Neil Crabb, Frontier IP’s chief executive, said: "Climate change and energy are among the biggest challenges we face today.
“Pulsiv OSMIUM has the potential to improve the energy efficiency of devices, helping to reduce energy consumption globally.
“We also believe the company will become a major green technology business."
Frontier IP has an 18.3% equity stake in Pulsiv.
