Ferguson expected to deliver punchy full-year numbers

“Key will be the trading conditions over August/September and the outlook," said analysts at UBS

US-focused supplier of plumbing equipment Ferguson PLC (LSE:FERG) is being tipped to put out some punchy numbers next week.

The City analyst consensus is for expected annual sales to rise by almost 23% to US$28.5bn, with around 16% growth in the final quarter.

Underlying profits (EDITDA) are seen rising a third to US$2.92bn, from US$2.2bn a year earlier.

“Key will be the trading conditions over August/September and the outlook, with concerns regarding the sustainability of earnings,” said UBS.

The Swiss bank is going for £2.94bn for EBITDA on £28.4bn revenue, with a 17% rise in Q4.

The broker is predicting volumes to ease back 5% in the current year, which will lead to lower underlying profits but M&A and share buybacks might feature more prominently.
