Lidl has followed its supermarket rivals and raised hourly pay rates for its UK workers for the second time this year amid the cost of living crisis.
The German-owned discount retailer has said it will now pay workers outside of London a minimum of £10.90 an hour, up from £10.10, and workers in London a minimum of £11.95, up from £11.30.

The increases, benefiting over 23,500 workers, will take effect on October 1, 2022, and cost Lidl £39.5mln.
The firm said the new pay rates represent an increase of 10% to 14.5% compared to this time last year. UK inflation in August was 9.9%.
Lidl's move follows rises announced by J Sainsbury PLC and Marks & Spencer Group PLC last week.
