Fireweed Metals Corp (TSX-V:FWZ, OTCQB:FWEDF) said it has bolstered its board with the appointment of Jill Donaldson as an independent director.
Donaldson is a senior corporate and securities lawyer with extensive experience working in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, strategic planning, stakeholder relations, compliance and risk management.
She was a director at Great Bear Royalties Corp and chair of its special committee with respect to its recent acquisition by Royal Gold.
"We extend a warm welcome to Jill as she joins our already strong board," noted Fireweed's CEO Brandon Macdonald in a statement.
"Her experience in governance, strategic planning, and corporate transactions will make Fireweed a stronger and better company for all stakeholders as we continue to advance our large critical minerals projects," he added.

Fireweed has three projects in northern Canada, namely, its district-scale 940 square kilometre (sq km) Macmillan Pass project in the Yukon - one of the largest undeveloped zinc projects in the world, and its 100% ownership in the 128.75 sq km Gayna River project, which sits 180km north of Macmillan Pass.
The company also has a binding letter of intent (LOI) to acquire 100% interest in the 37.6 sq km Mactung tungsten project adjacent to Macmillan Pass and accessed by the same road. It contains historic resources that make it one of the largest and highest-grade undeveloped tungsten resources in the world.
