Talon Metals unveils new record drill result at Tamarack project in Minnesota

The intercept was hit starting at 453.73 meters depth and also showed 0.12% cobalt, 0.49 grams per ton (g/t) palladium, 0.62 g/t platinum and 0.35 g/t gold (7.58% nickel-equivalent and 20.20% copper-equivalent)

Talon Metals Corp. (TSX:TLO) has unveiled a new record drill result from a hole at its Tamarack project in Minnesota, which showed 6.04% nickel (Ni) and 2.85% copper over a length of 23.44 meters (m).

The intercept was hit starting at 453.73m depth and also showed 0.12% cobalt, 0.49 grams per ton (g/t) palladium, 0.62 g/t platinum and 0.35 g/t gold (7.58% nickel-equivalent and 20.20% copper-equivalent).

It was one of the assays Talon has reported from 17 new holes sunk on the western side of the Tamarack resource area (the Main Zone).

The firm said the new assays demonstrated "the continuity and thickness of the high-grade nickel and copper massive sulphide zone and the separate semi-massive sulphide zones".

"It is exciting to see the massive sulphide on the western limb continue to thicken to a new record 23.44 meters while maintaining an extremely high grade of 6.04% Ni," said Brian Goldner, Talon Metals' chief exploration officer in a statement.

"Exploration around this pooling area has identified hole 22TK0412 which intersected 12.81 meters at 8.08% Ni and the borehole electromagnetic (geophysical) survey provides evidence that it may trend in a slightly different direction than anticipated.

"The southern extent of the western massive sulphide unit remains open and will be a focus for one of the drill rigs currently turning at the Tamarack Nickel project," he added.

Other highlight drill assays included a length of 52.26m from 430.68m depth, which hit 2.75% nickel and 1.22% copper, or 3.54% nickel-equivalent, or 9.43% copper-equivalent.

Talon is advancing Tamarack to potentially supply the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) battery materials market.

The property comprises a large land position, 18 kilometers of strike length, with high-grade intercepts outside the current resource area. Talon has an earn-in right to acquire up to 60% of the asset. It currently owns 51%.
