Power Metal begins drilling at 'district scale opportunity' in Botswana

The exploration company said the project is targeting large-scale nickel-copper-platinum group elements

Power Metal Resources PLC (AIM:POW) said drilling has now commenced at its Molopo Farms Complex project in southwestern Botswana, which has a “district scale opportunity.”

The exploration company said the project is targeting large-scale nickel-copper-platinum group elements.

Diamond core drilling at DDH1-6B is now underway and targeting a southerly dipping conductor recently identified in the geophysics and moving loop electromagnetic (MLEM) survey in target area 1-6.

The second diamond core drill hole, DDH 1-6C, is planned for an ongoing drilling campaign and will be located 830 miles south of KKME1-6, which was drilled in December 2020 and intersected significant mineralisation.

Additional ground magnetic and MLEM surveys over target areas 1-3, 2-3 and 1-14 have also been completed, with preliminary data received and the company interpreting these results.

“Molopo Farms presents the possibility for a district scale nickel exploration opportunity, with priority drill target T1-6 expected to be the first in a series of prospective drill targets based on current geophysical work and exploration planning,” Power Metal chief executive Paul Johnson said in a statement.
