Belmont Resources kicks off Phase II exploration program at Come By Chance (CBC) porphyry project in BC

Geologists are currently at the property 'ground truthing' areas in the central and northern portion, where results so far have suggested that this location is the core of the porphyry system

Belmont Resources Inc (TSX-V:BEA) told investors it has started the second phase of the 2022 exploration program at its copper-gold Come By Chance (CBC) porphyry project in British Columbia, with a drilling program earmarked to begin sometime before year-end.

Geologists are currently at the property 'ground truthing' areas in the central and northern portion, where results so far have suggested that this location is the core of the porphyry system.

Data from current work will be added to the database and 3D modeling results will be used to determine more definitive drill targets for an upcoming Phase II drill program.

The firm's wholly-owned CBC property sits in the Greenwood mining camp, considered to be one of the highest concentrated areas of past producing mines in North America. It lies 3 kilometres (km) to the southeast of the Phoenix deposits.

Although the Phoenix mine was the major producer in the camp, some of the smaller mines were also productive from a number of different types of deposits, reported Belmont.

"From 1900 to 1975 production from these 26 principal mines produced over 600 million pounds of copper and 1.4 million ounces of gold," it said.

Belmont acquired CBC in 2020 and immediately focused on discovering a potential deep-seated copper/gold porphyritic, bulk tonnage, mineral resource as opposed to a mineral bearing skarn resource.

Junior explorer Belmont has a portfolio of highly prospective copper-gold-lithium and uranium projects in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Washington and Nevada states.
