Oriole Resources reports positive results from Phase 4 drilling at Bibemi gold project

The results confirm two gold-bearing vein sets at Bakassi Zone 1 and additional potential for mineralisation at the two Lawa prospects

Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) has reported positive results from the latest drilling programme at its 90%-owned Bibemi gold project in Cameroon.

The best results from Phase 4 of its diamond drilling programme include 2.00 metres (m) grading 39.42 grammes a tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 160m at the extension to Phase 2 hole BBDD034, including 1.00m at 75.36 g/t gold.

Other significant results include 14.80m grading 4.27 g/t gold, including 5.00m at 10.22 g/t; 7.70m at 2.74 g/t; 1.00m at 17.01 g/t all from hole BBDD050 drilled at the Bakassi Zone 1 prospect. High-grade mineralisation was also confirmed at Lawa East, with hole BBDD053 delivering 3.00m at 12.30 g/t gold.

The results prove the existence of multiple grade-bearing, sub-horizontal veins in addition to previously tested sub-vertical veins, said the AIM-traded company.

"These are extremely exciting results from the latest phase of drilling; yet again our projects in Cameroon have delivered, with these results confirming that we have two gold-bearing vein sets at Bakassi Zone 1 and that we have additional potential for mineralisation at the two Lawa prospects,” said Oriole chief executive Tim Livesey in a statement.

Exploration to date has identified four main prospects: Bakassi Zone 1, Bakassi Zone 2, Lawa West and Lawa East, with Bakassi Zone 1 being the most advanced in terms of work completed.
