Talon Metals uncovers 'more thick, high-grade' nickel-copper mineralization outside main resource area at Minnesota project

One hole hit an impressive interval of 29.39 metres (m), from 180.27m depth, which graded 1.71% nickel, 0.98% copper and 0.05% cobalt. The nickel-equivalent grade was 2.21%

Talon Metals Corp. (TSX:TLO) has reported the discovery of "more thick, high-grade" nickel-copper mineralization in an area outside the main resource at its Tamarack project in Minnesota.

The firm has unveiled assays from 14 new drill holes in the CGO West area of the property.

One hole hit an impressive interval of 29.39 metres (m), from 180.27m depth, which graded 1.71% nickel, 0.98% copper and 0.05% cobalt. The nickel-equivalent grade was 2.21%.

"This represents one of the thickest intercepts encountered in the CGO West area to date," said Brian Goldner, Talon Metals' chief exploration officer, in a statement.

"The fact that this hole is located on the western edge of the CGO West area highlights that CGO West continues to be open to the west. While we had intended to be finished drilling in the CGO West area by now, the high-grade nickel-copper mineralization just seems to keep going; therefore, we feel it is prudent to continue drilling within the CGO West area to further expand our resource," he added.

Talon CEO Henri van Rooyen added: "While drilling continues in both the CGO West and Main Zone (the Tamarack nickel project's defined resource area) to further expand the company's resource, our ongoing work towards a feasibility study continues, with the goal of first production in 2026."

van Rooyen also noted that the company had recently deployed two additional drill rigs into the 264 Zone (3 kilometres north of the resource area) and into the 221 Zone (1 kilometre north of the resource ) to "identify potential satellite high-grade nickel-copper deposits".

Other highlights from the 14 holes included a length of 4.2m in one hole, starting from 209.16m depth, which hit 6.70% nickel and 1.97% copper, or 7.96% nickel-equivalent and 21.24% copper-equivalent.

Talon is advancing Tamarack to potentially supply the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) battery materials market.

The property comprises a large land position (18km of strike length) with high-grade intercepts outside the current resource area. Talon has an earn-in right to acquire up to 60% of the asset. It currently owns 51%.
