Darktrace PLC (LSE:DARK) swung to a pre-tax profit for the last fiscal year, while it also reported higher revenue and customer numbers.
For the year ended June 30, 2022, the company reported pre-tax profit of US$5.3mln compared with a net loss of US$143.9mln for the comparative period in 2021.
EBITDA for the cybersecurity artificial intelligence company almost tripled to US$91.4mln, with sales up 45% to US$415.5mln.
The company validated its fiscal 2023 guidance, which it previously announced on July 19, 2022, saying it anticipates year-on-year revenue growth of 29%-32% and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 15%-18%.
Poppy Gustafsson, Darktrace chief executive, commented: “We have a proven business model, which is generating cash. Today’s results are yet another example of our strong performance."
Tech investment firm Thoma Bravo, meanwhile, confirmed it would not be making a bid for the UK-based cybersecurity company.
This comes despite Darktrace admitting in August it was in early-stage talks with the US private equity firm regarding a potential cash offer.
